What to
wear at a job interview
Dress
for success!
Recruiters
will tell stories of how some candidates will
show up to an interview wearing jeans, sweat
suits, sneakers, pierced body parts, chewing gum,
showing up in rumpled clothes, or some other poor
manner. Such poor dress costs some candidates the
job.
It
does make a difference how you dress and act. In
conservative business climates it can be very
important while in more relaxed environments it
isn't quite as important but still important. So
it makes sense to dress your best for the
interview. When in doubt it is better overdress
than underdress.
People
form opinions based on how you look.
Tips
for dressing for success without necessarily
spending much money:
Women
- Conservative suit, solid
color, with coordinated blouse
- Limited jewelry
- Neat hair
- Limited make-up &
perfume
- Manicured nails
Men
- Conservative suit, solid
color, with a white long sleeve shirt and
conservative tie
- Dark socks and clean shoes
- Limit jewelry
- Neat hair
- Trimmed fingernails
