Cover Letter for Teaching Position

When creating an application cover letter people sometimes make mistakes. It is helpful to know what pitfalls to look out for

Writing a cover letter like this is bad:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I saw your ad on your website, and I would like to apply for the position.

With my combination of extensive and in depth education, I can hit the ground running.

Attached is my résumé. I look forward to speaking with you further.

Why is it bad? This letter tells the hiring manager little about the applicant's qualifications or prior experience.

What to do about it? Easy. Tell the hiring manager why you're qualified for the job by giving a a brief recap of the resumes strongest points.  But don't just cut and paste sections of your résumé into the cover letter. Instead select two or three strong skills or accomplishments that are relevant to the job ad you saw. And finally, consider using our cover letter service to help you make your cover letter better.

Use self-hypnosis to help boost confidence at interviews, and more
